Cartoon Leatherface

I've been playing around with some ideas for future Diago vs. ? ideas and I figured that if I was going to have him face off against other popular horror movie icons, then I was going to have to draw them in cartoon form.

Meet the gruesome Leatherface from the Texas Chainsaw Massacre films. Arguably the first of the classic horror movie icons, Leatherface is the retarded, inbred, faceless hick in a family of deranged Texas cannibals. And just to prove that this family is insane, they actually trust this guy to run around with a chainsaw! Leatherface's hobbies include running with sharp objects, grunting unintelligibly, and wearing masks made out of people.
In the world of classic horror movies, Leatherface is iconic. But drawing this guy was a real challenge for me. The attributes I really wanted to exaggerate that he was ugly, awkward, and stupid. It was a tough combination for me to pull off. And getting his "face" right was the hardest thing of all with it's stitches and uneven features and the way it hangs off his face. I eventually settled for making the mask skin tight and have one stitch line going across the face.
The crazy uncombed hair was the most fun.
